Samantha Burns

PhD Student DPE

I am a PhD student in the Developmental Psychology and Education Program at OISE. I have research experience with data management and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and have worked on various meta-analyses on Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). For my Master’s thesis I examined the use of diverse methodologies to understand parental preferences for ECEC. My current research interests lie in investigating the development of Future Skills to prepare Canadian youth for the 21st Century workforce. More specifically, I am interested in examining the evidence base of research in the Future Skills domain, how it has evolved over time and using longitudinal data to determine which skills are related to employment success.
